The
Precision Flag Corp
consists of members from across the state of Georgia. With a focus on more modern colorguard technique and choreography, the
Precision Flag Corp incorporates dance and movement with spinning. The Flagline performs with the rest of the Precision Auxiliary
Corp units during NCAA, NFL & NBA pre-games & half-time shows; major local, state, national & international parades;
pep rallies and other school and community events. These units also compete in local, state, national & international
competitions.
Frequently
Asked Questions What do you wear to practice? All candidates should wear a modestly cut black leotard with flesh colored
tights. Tennis shoes or appropriate dance shoes are required. Performance quality hair and make-up is required. No jewelry
except for stud earrings is allowed.
Requirements once you join the line:
A practice and show uniform
deposit is required the day you join the Flagline.
Members of the Flagline are required to attend all band camps & clinics. Band camps &
clinics are generally in the spring & summer. Effective fundraisers are in place to offset some of the costs. Remember
this is a scholastic investment.
How many girls are on the Flagline? Currently, there are 30
members on the Flagline.
How many additional members are added each year? There is no set number of members added each year. Members are selected based on performance and appearance standards.
What size poles do you spin? We use flags on weighted 5' to 6'
poles. The top of the flag is weighted heavier than the bottom to allow the flag to spin correctly while being tossed.
Does the Flagline spin weapons? Many members of the Flagline know how
to spin rifle and/or sabre. While we encourage members to stay current on their skills with weapon, we do not have a performing
weapons line.
Is dance experience required for the Flagline? Some
dance/movement experience is recommended but not required.
What is the cost associated
with being a member of the Flagline? Each member is responsible for purchasing uniform, matching warm-ups, sports
bras, shorts, T-shirts, bag, practice silk and pole. The price varies slightly each year. Some of the items (practice pole,
silk, bag, warmup) are a one-time purchase. Effective
fundraisers are in place to offset some of the costs. Remember this is a scholastic investment.
Who choreographs the routines? The captains choreograph
and teach the routines.
How many shows does the Precision Flag Corp perform each
fall? The Precision Auxiliary Corp units learn and perform several routines each year. There is no set number
of performances.
Does the flagline travel to all events? All units of the
Precision Auxiliary Corp travel together. We are a supporting Auxiliary Corp.
How
are captains chosen? To be eligible for captain, you must have performed with the line for at least a year. An
application must be completed and submitted to the P.A.C. directors and Auxiliary Coordinators. The applicant must go through
an interview as well as choreograph and teach a small group of current members a portion of a routine.
Once I join & become a member, can I switch to another auxiliary unit? Yes, but you will have to
try-out for that unit. The purpose of members going through the audition practice is to maintain the most current skill set.
In addition to adhering to the P.A.C. Performance and Appearance standards, Here's a sampling
of the classes offered:
